The 2026 12th International Conference on Energy Materials and Environment Engineering (ICEMEE 2026) was successfully concluded on June 12, 2026, as an online conference. The event brought together researchers, scholars, and industry professionals from around the world to exchange the latest advancements in energy materials and environmental engineering.

The conference opened with a brief registration and an opening ceremony, followed by three distinguished keynote speeches. Prof. Baoyu Gao from Shandong University, a highly cited researcher, delivered an in-depth presentation on "Development Toward Application of Polymer Materials for Water and Wastewater Treatment: Preparation, Characterization and Performance," sharing recent progress in low-cost polymer materials for water treatment. Prof. Baoyou Liu from Hebei University of Science and Technology presented his cutting-edge work titled "Application of Quantum Dot Nanomaterials in Environmental Monitoring and Degradation of Emerging Pollutants," exploring the use of carbon and perovskite quantum dots for detecting heavy metal ions, food additives, and antibiotics, as well as their photocatalytic degradation capabilities. Prof. Shahid Hussain from Jiangsu University, a Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials, provided valuable insights with his speech on "Demand of Advanced Nanomaterials in Energy Storage Materials," addressing the application of metal oxides, sulfides, MXenes, and metal-organic frameworks in gas sensors, supercapacitors, and lithium-sulfur batteries.

Following the keynote sessions, the oral presentation session featured nine emerging researchers presenting a diverse range of topics. Presenters included Weitong Guo from China Waterborne Transport Research Institute on port energy-saving technologies, Shuyang Dai from Chongqing University on molecular dynamics of iron complexes in flow batteries, Hongqiao Zhou from Xi'an Technological University on ultra-low-temperature sintering of piezoelectric ceramics, Weijun Li from China University of Petroleum on bioinspired anticorrosion coatings, Jingxi Feng from Chongqing Jiaotong University on fracture behavior of human teeth, Shuyi Sun from China University of Petroleum (East China) on lattice healing in perovskite oxides, and Shangkun Jin from Guizhou University on hierarchical lattice metastructures for energy absorption.

The conference also featured a poster session showcasing innovative research, including Qiuli Xia from Northeastern University on food-grade Lactobacillus for bioleaching spent lithium batteries, Xin Dong from Qingdao University of Technology on composite dust suppressants for metal mine dust, Yeyang Ni from Nanjing Tech University on MOF modification for enhanced tetracycline adsorption, Luyang Zhang from Shantou University, and Jinjie Fu from Anhui Polytechnic University on hollow porous carbon microspheres for emulsion separation.
